 Ananda Madison Meditation Group - The Art and Science of Yoga Meditation

Justin runs the Ananda Madison Meditation Group for those that are interested in deepening their exploration into the practical teachings of meditation and yoga philosophy. This group follows the wisdom of Paramhansa Yogananda  We will explore some of the practical and effective techniques of meditation that can be applied to all areas of life, as well as enjoy redirecting our energy inward to produce spiritual awakening. 
 
This group offers offers a variety of talks, meditation, kirtan and the timeless wisdom of participating in Yogananda class series.  Some will be by donation and are designed to encourage you make change in your life little by little until the thrill and joy of yoga meditation is part of your daily life!

Ananda is an amazing worldwide organization that is dedicated to sharing with the world the teachings of Yoga, that Parmhansa bought to the West.  Yogananda was the first Yoga Master of India to take up permanent residency here in the USA.  He taught practical soulutions for everyday life through the art and science of yoga meditation.

"There is enough energy in one human cell to power Chicago" Paramhansa Yoganada.  Our modern science now proves this statement Yogananda made back in the 1920's.  Why not discover how to master your energy with Yoga Meditation's practical teachingsas taught by this great Master.

Meditation is not a religion, one can be an atheist and meditate deeply.  Meditation deepens your faith if you do have one, without imposing or conflicting on your faith.  Ananda speaks very much of the science of knowing God through Yoga Meditation - it's belief is similar to that of Buddhists - and yet their faith never mentions God.  You could just as easily say Higher self, Life, Creation, All that is, or our Greatest Potential.  Whatever belief system you align to, know that meditation is universal and very powerful.

Learn to Meditate right now - with some simple techniques that are easy to learn and show you how to start a practice of meditation right away if you choose. Ananda offers a homestudy course in Self Realiztion which is a truly comprehensive and exceptional training that you can do at home at your own pace with books, cd's and further support.  There are some great free meditation support to assist your meditation practice.  If you need instructions and advice on how to sit in meditation look no further.  And once you know how to sit, maybe you need some meditation cushions, benches and more. Need some help on how to watch the breath. 

Here is an 8 minute Youtube video introduction of Paramhansa Yogananda's Energization Exercises  which are one of his unique contributions to Yoga. Watch a very interesting Sunday service celebrating Paramhansa Yogananda. It is from 2010 and is honoring Yogananda's life and particularly his anniversary of his exit from his body in 1952.  This is a fantastic introduction to who Paramhansa Yogananda is and what his mission was and is, here in the USA.  And see rare live footage of Paramhansa Yogananda peforming a wedding ceremony!
